Choosing Bricks

1-First you must know your building's carrier system. If your building rises on the carrier beams you may use Horizontaly or Verticaly Perforated Bricks for walls. If you consider to support your building on the building's walls then you must use Carrier type Bricks.

2-Buildings are places where we live or work. Occasionaly an unexpected strong earthquake event can turn our building to a serious threat to our lives. We have to consider our building's height as an agent that increases this risk when choosing the bricks to be used. As the building rises we have to reduce the weight to per unit area.

If your building has two or less floors then using Carrier type Bricks is the most economic and secure way for you. If your building has three to six floors then using Verticaly or Horizontaly Perforated Bricks is a good choice. If your building has seven or more floors then you have to decrease the weight to per unit area to decrease the risk of an earthquake. To succeed you may use Horizontaly Perforated Light Bricks which have lower density.

3-After considering the building's carrier system and height, we have to know the climate conditions about the place where we will construct the building. If you have a heat loss project for the building this subject has also been considered. If you have no heat loss project for the building then you can use the Heat Loss  hyperlink to make calculations for your building's walls.

4-Hollow Blocks for Flooring can be choosen according to the flooring's total height and the concrete-steel mash's height on the Hollow Blocks which are indicated on your building's project.

For instance: If the building's floor height is 40 cm.and  the concrete-steel mash's height on the Hollow Blocks is 8 cm.then you may use Hollow Blocks at 32 cm.height.

You have to construct a strong mold to carry the floor where Classical Hollow Blocks are used. Using Hollow Blocks for Prefabric Ferro-Concrete Rafters requires less mold construction rather then using Classical type Hollow Blocks.
